  9. Wash the lentils under the cold tap water for 3 -4 times to take any excess starch out.
  10. Place a pot on the medium heat. Add 1 tbsp oil. Add sliced garlic and ginger. Cook for 40 seconds or until little brown.
  11. Add lentils, salt and mix it together. Add water and turmeric. Let it simmer on low heat for 15-20mins. Should you required more water then add little more. Don’t add too much water.
  12. Serve with rice, papadum, pickle or your choice of naan bread or tandoori roti.
