- Here I tried making a loaf with no filling. I proved it for a second time in a banneton (a bread rising mould) and dusted with rye flour. It made a really soft loaf that's great for making sandwiches.
Then do the same with the sourdough starter. This baked perfectly in my bread machine. I used all bread flour since I didn't have barley flour. I tried it several times in my bread machine & in the oven (it still worked great). Not quite like real sourdough but a good substitute.
